Paul Martin still has it in for Jean Chretien
Mon, 2008-10-06 07:40.
An advance look at Paul Martin's autobiography highlights the longstanding animosity between the former Prime Minister and his predecessor, Jean Chretien. Martin devotes a number of chapters to the bitterly disputed leadership race of 1990. He says in 2002, he heard on the radio that he'd been sacked as finance minister in Chretien's cabinet. And Martin accuses Chretien of failing to confront the brewing sponsorship scandal, instead opting to delay the report of the Auditor General until after Martin took over from him. The book comes out in three weeks.
