Quebec Liberals under fire, literally

A fire is being mopped up at the campaign office of Martin Cossette, the Liberal candidate for Crémazie; it's on Henri-Bourassa at Olympia.

There has been extensive damage to the first floor, where the office is.

And the two commercial and residential floors above also took a hit.

The fire department says it's too early to say what the cause may be.

Residents in the area doubt the fire was an act of political sabotage. They say there's known drug use in the area, with crackheads using lighters and candles.

Crémazie was one of the hotly contested ridings in the 2007 election, and continues to be. It's currently held by the PQ.
