Quebec working on anti-homophobia policy
Quebec justice minister Kathleen Weil says there'll be a province-wide policy to combat homophobia in place by the end of this year.
She says, an inter-ministerial committee is working on the plan now, and she adds by adopting such a policy, the province re-affirms its commitment to an inclusive, open society.
She made her statement as a rally marking the International day Against Homophobia took place at Lafontaine Park this afternoon.
The theme of this year's event -- the ethnic diversity of homosexuality.
A recent survey shows immigrants from Asian or African countries were less open-minded than those who came to Quebec from other places.
It also showed, however, that second-generation immigrants coming from these countries are more open-minded about homosexuality.
