St. Jean festivities: anglos not welcome

Whenever a microphone is shoved in their faces, Quebec nationalists routinely say Quebec is an open, free society that includes everyone.
But often, what they say and what they mean are entirely different.
Two Quebec anglo bands, Bloodshot Bill and Lake of Stew were on the bill for a St. Jean concert on the 23rd at an east-end park, the Parc le Pelican at teh corner of St. Josseph and Molson.
But organizers, apparently under pressure from the Montreal St. Jean Baptiste Society, want to kick them off the bill, because they're anglos.
They explained they feel the French language is threatened in Quebec, and for that reason, they're opposed to English-language performances.
They've even threatened protest action if they get to remain on the bill.
