Basil Parasiris has been granted parole.
The Brossard was sentenced to 20 months in prison on weapons possession charges.
He served five months.
Parasiris beat a first degree murder charges in connection with the shooting death of laval police constable Daniel Tessier during a botched drug raid in March 2007.
CJAD contacted Laval police but it has refused to comment.
