Selwyn House has apparently done its part to settle a class action lawsuit linked to alleged sexual abuse.

In January, Quebec Superior Court approved a settlement, worth up to $5 million, as three dozen men came forth, claiming to have been abused by former teachers at the Westmound private school for boys between 1961 and 1991.

Selwyn House also agreed to issue a public apology for the alleged incidents.

It has completed that part of the deal with a message posted on its website, saying it hopes the settlement can help the alleged victims "move past" the matter.

Another Selwyn House employee, Michael Kane, appears back in court in mid-August to face charges of sexual misconduct with a minor.
