Tim Parent Bio

Get To Know...Tim Parent

Birthplace?

- The Montreal General Hospital

What's the best thing about living in Montreal?

- The potholed streets, the crumbling infrastructure, the leaky watermains ... It doesn't get any better than this!

Most memorable moment in your radio career?

- Realizing what my professors said was true - that there's no money in radio.  Good thing I love what I do!

Favorite person you interviewed and why?

- No one person sticks out but I did have a brief conversation with Paul Martin aboard his campaign plane where I offered him a beer.  He turned it down saying he'd wait until he won to have a beer.  I didn't have the heart to tell him he should probably have it now, then.

Other than Montreal, where else would you love to live someday?

- I'd consider the South Shore.

When you have friends visit Montreal from elsewhere for the first time, what's the one thing you insist they see/do?

- My home.  It's the base of operations for all endeavours in to the downtown.  Then we hit Ziggy's.

What's the weirdest job you've ever had?

- Radio reporter - there's a lot of nutcases in this business

Favorite Hobby/Pastime?

- Sleeping.  Nothing beats it.  Reading comes a close second.

Favorite magazine?

- Back issues of Nintendo Power

If you could have one superpower, what would it be, and why?

-  To see in to the future.  Think of the breaking news stories!

Favorite television show of all time?

Early Simpsons ... ‘cause now, it just sucks.

TV Show that you'd most like to appear on, and why?

-  None, actually.  I'm on the radio and that's enough for me.

Famous person (living or dead) you'd most like to have lunch with?

- I'd love to have one more lunch with the late, great Gord Sinclair - sipping a Manhattan and discussing world events.

If they made a movie about you, what actor would you like to play you?

-  Are they even considering making a movie about me?  Is there a script sitting on some Hollywood producer's desk somewhere?  That's a little disconcerting.

What's your #1 pet peeve?

- I hate the sound of people eating and filling out high school yearbook-type bios.  It's a toss up.

Whom do you admire the most?

- As ego-centric as this is, me.  After being front and center for 9/11, countless murder scenes, the Dawson shooting, home invasions and incredibly dull council meetings, I gotta' admire myself for sticking with this!
