Birthplace?
Born in Ottawa (dad was in the air force..stationed at the former Uplands Air Base....)

What's the best thing about living in Montreal?
Sorry...I only work here...and live on the south shore...BUT....when I travel abroad, I tell people i'm a Montrealer.

My favourite thing about montreal?
Its openness to the world.....: whatever it is, you should be able to fint it in montreal, be it a culture, a particular food, or a stream of thought.

Most memorable moment in your radio career?
Being hired by Gord Sinclair to work at CJAD too many years ago to remember!

Favorite person you interviewed and why?
One of my favourite interviews was with former Montreal Mayor, the Late Jean Drapeau. It was election day in Montreal...the day Jean Dore was elected to his first term. Drapeau was at the unveiling of a statue (a likeness of Brother Andre outside the now-former Mother Tucker's restaurant.) It was going to be Drapeau's very last public function as longest-serving mayor in the history of the city. I was the only reporter who showed. I asked Drapeau if he felt slighted by the media. He said "WHAT media?"...and smiled..: Drapeau was never too trusting of reporters and didn't mind at all that only one showed up. I had him all to myself. We had a lovely chat about his years in office going back to his anti-gangland crusade with fellow-lawyer Pacifique (Pax) Plante.

Other than Montreal, where else would you love to live someday?
In the countryside when i retire...hopefully near a river or lake....with lots of trees, and no bridges to take in the morning! (again, i live on the southshore).

When you have friends visit Montreal from elsewhere for the first time, what's the one thing you insist they see/do?
They MUST visit me in longueuil...: we have beautiful stuff to see on the southshore....: rivers, mountains, historic forts, etc....and of course...my backyard.

What's the weirdest job you've ever had?
Hmmmm. I've never had a "weird" JOB...though i've had a few weird DAYS on the job. No reason to dredge that up now, though..!

Favorite Hobby/Pastime?
Historic ship-model building. I'm currently working on the triple-deck early-seventeenth century french warship "La Couronne". I've been working on it, off-and-on, for five years now: about the same time it took to build the real thing! I'm also into genealogical and family-history research.

Favorite magazine?
"Time" some weeks, "Maclean's" on others.....

If you could have one superpower, what would it be, and why?
Teleportation...so i could beam right off the jacques cartier bridge and materialize in my slippers at home! THAT would be cool.Favorite television show of all time? MASH....first five or six seasons. After that, the show got a little too "preachy".

TV Show that you'd most like to appear on, and why?
"Lost".....: okay so there are weird critters and folk on the island....but come on...: escape from paradise? No way.

Famous person (living or dead) you'd most like to have lunch with?
It's a tie between Samuel de Champlain and John Wayne.....both larger than life...

If they made a movie about you, what actor would you like to play you?
Kermit....'cause it ain't easy being short....

What's your #1 pet peeve?
Another tie..: people who crowd into the elevator before you can get out.....and....ALL nonsense at the wheel.

Whom do you admire the most?
Again, a tie...between the two most important women in my life....: My mom, who always leaves good feelings and chuckles in her wake. And my partner in life....a peacemaker, gentle and sweet as the day is long.
