For the second time in the last four months, the borough of Lachine has had to scrub away hateful graffiti spray-painted outside the local Legion hall.

The latest incident happened last week, when an unknown vandal spray-painted the letters FLQ and other separatist slogans on the exterior of the legion building.

Irene Tate, president of Lachine's Legion Branch 85/90 says all signs of the vandalism have been erased.

Tate can only marvel at the help and expressions of support her legion has received from around Lachine and from across Canada.  She says the community's generosity should cover the cost of a closed-circuit camera security system around the Legion's property.

The Lachine Legion's cenotaph was de-faced in a similar spray-paint vandal attack four months ago.
